Motorist charged with impaired following collision

Following an investigation into a two-vehicle collision that occurred in a parking lot early Saturday morning, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 24-year-old East Ferris man with:
One count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle; and
One count of fail or refuse to provide breath sample.

Shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 25, 2017, North Bay Police were dispatched to a parking lot on Seymour Street following a report of a two-vehicle collision. It is alleged that while the accused was entering the parking lot, his vehicle struck another vehicle that was exiting the parking lot. Police immediately arrested the accused for impaired driving on site and then transported him to police headquarters, where he refused to provide police with suitable intoxilyzer breath samples.

The accused was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for Apr. 4, 2017.

Nobody was injured as a result of the collision.

Numerous thefts from vehicles
 
North Bay Police are currently investigating a number of reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles that took place over the weekend. Motorists are reminded to always remove valuables and to lock their vehicles when leaving them unattended.

Call 9-1-1
If you witness suspicious activity in your neighbourhood, such as a person walking from vehicle to vehicle checking door handles, call 9-1-1 immediately to report what you have seen to police.

Woman accused of assault causing bodily harm

Early Saturday morning, following an investigation into a 9-1-1 call reporting an assault, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Migwans Pitawanakwat, age 21, of North Bay with:
one count of assault causing bodily harm.

It is alleged that sometime midnight and 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 25, 2017, following an evening out with friends and while outside having just left a licenced establishment in downtown North Bay, the accused and another woman started arguing. It is alleged that the dispute turned violent when the accused hit the victim, causing injuries that required medical attention.

Police located the accused at her residence, where she was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

She was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for Apr. 25, 2017.

Man faces charges related to domestic dispute

On Sunday morning, following a 9-1-1 call reporting a domestic dispute, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 40-year-old North Bay man with:
One count of assault;
One count of uttering threats; and
Three counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged on Sunday, Mar. 26, 2017, shortly before 6:30 a.m., an argument between the accused and his ex-partner in her residence turned violent when he assaulted and threatened her.

The accused, who was arrested at the scene, was held in custody for a bail hearing.
