Man faces several charges following damage to vehicles

On Saturday, following an investigation into a 9-1-1 call from a witness who saw a man damage a parked vehicle on Wyld Street, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 28-year-old North Bay man with:
Three counts of mischief under $5,000;
One count of trespass by night;
One count of possession of a controlled substance; and
Two counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that on Saturday, Mar. 11, 2017, at about 1:15 a.m., the accused caused extensive damage to the inside of his apartment on Second Avenue East. He then went outside and smashed the windshield and two windows of a vehicle parked in the driveway of the same rental property. The accused then entered the backyard of another residence on Second Avenue East, where he removed a can of diesel and proceeded to spill the fuel onto the driveway and down the middle of the road. A short time later, he broke the tail light of another vehicle parked in a driveway on Wyld Street. Police located and arrested the accused on foot in the 500 block of Wyld Street shortly thereafter. A search after his arrest revealed that he was in possession of 13 methamphetamine pills, which police seized as evidence.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The North Bay Police Service thanks the witness who called 9-1-1 to report this incident to police.
