The following is a news release from North Bay Police:

Drug charges

On June 2 a controlled drugs and substance investigation by the North Bay Police Street Crime unit led to the execution of a search warrant on a residence on Duke Street. Five people were arrested during the investigation including two females and three males and charged with the following offences:

  1. Jessica Betts – Possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, Possession of a controlled substance x 2.
  2. Amanda Clarke – Possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of a controlled substance x 2, fail to comply with an undertaking.
  3. Anthony Edwards – Possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of a controlled substance x 2.
  4. Treyfon Farrel - Possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of a controlled substance x 2.
  5. Maurice Philion - Possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of a controlled substance x 2.


A total of 136.3 grams of Cocaine, 1.8 grams of marijuana and 1 x 100mg morphine pill was seized, The total street value of the drugs is $18,050. In addition to the drugs $5,705 in Canadian currency was seized.

All the accused parties were held for bail.
