Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 207 calls for service and arrested and charged 10 people with the following offences: One person was charged with three counts of domestic assault, four counts of breach

Man faces charges of sexual interference following investigation

On Saturday, following an ongoing investigation into a sexual assault complaint, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 41-year-old North Bay man with three counts of sexual Interference with a person under 16 years of age.

It is alleged that the accused sexually touched his step-daughter in 2015.

The accused was released with a court date scheduled for August 9, 2016. The North Bay Police Service is withholding the name of the accused in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim.

Weekend Occurrences

Over the weekend, the North Bay Police Service responded to 207 calls for service and arrested and charged 10 people with the following offences:
One person was charged with three counts of domestic assault, four counts of breach of probation and one count of resist police officer, all under the Criminal Code;
Two people were charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon, both under the Criminal Code;
One person was charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of theft under $5000 from a vehicle and one count of breach of recognizance, all under the Criminal Code;
One person was charged with three counts of domestic assault and four counts of domestic mischief, all under the Criminal Code;
One person was charged with drive over 80 under the Criminal Code and possessing more than one Driver’s Licence under the Highway Traffic Act;
One person was charged with public intoxication under the Liquor Licence Act;
One person was charged with one count of mischief under $5000 and two counts of breach of probation,  both under the Criminal Code;
One person was charged with one count of causing a disturbance and one count of assault police officer, both under the Criminal Code; and
One person was charged with one count of unsafe storage of a firearm under the Criminal Code.

Man faces charges for domestic assault

On Saturday morning, following an investigation into a suspected domestic violence complaint, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 21-year-old North Bay man with:
three counts of domestic assault;
four counts of breach of probation; and
one count of resist police officer.

It is alleged that on two separate occasions in June, the accused assaulted his female partner in their shared residence in North Bay. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of these occurrences. Police were not informed of these incidents at the time.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, police were contacted regarding a suspected domestic incident involving the same couple in their shared North Bay residence. It is alleged that the accused fled the residence by vehicle after assaulting his female partner, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. A short time later, police located the accused in a vehicle parked on Algonquin Avenue, where he resisted arrest before police took him into custody.

The accused, whose name the North Bay Police Service is withholding in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Two men face assault/assault with a weapon charges

Following an investigation into an assault complaint reported to police on Saturday, North Bay Police arrested two men:

Tyler Patrick Timothy Leblond, age 25, of North Bay was charged with:
one count of assault; and
one count of assault with a weapon.

Kyle A. Leblond, age 23, of North Bay was charged with:
one count of assault; and
one count of assault with a weapon.

It is alleged that on Saturday, June 24 shortly after 10 p.m. an altercation between the two accused and a male victim outside the victim’s North Bay residence turned violent when the accused assaulted the victim and hit him with a baseball bat.

The victim sustained injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance.

The two accused were released from custody with a court date scheduled for August 9, 2016.

North Bay man faces theft and assault with a weapon charges

On Friday, following an ongoing investigation into a complaint reported to police in January, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

Robert Joseph Burnham, age 30, of North Bay with:
one count of assault with a weapon;
one count of theft under $5,000 from a motor vehicle; and
one count of breach of recognizance.

On January 21, 2016, shortly after 7 a.m., a male victim confronted the accused while he was rummaging through the victim’s vehicle, which was parked outside the victim’s residence. It is alleged that the accused threatened the victim with a knife and then fled the scene.

On June 24, 2016, shortly before 1 p.m., police located and arrested the accused on First Avenue and Ferguson Street. Following a search of his person after his arrest, police seized a pocket knife.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for August 9, 2016.
