Three face drug-related charges

On Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, following an ongoing investigation and the execution of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residential unit located in an apartment building on the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive, officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit arrested and charged three individuals.

Brian Victor Yeates, age 53, of North Bay, was charged with:
One count of possession of morphine for the purpose of trafficking;
One count of possession of oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking;
One count of trafficking in morphine;
One count of possession of property obtained by crime;
One count of resist police officer; and
One count of unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Kara Lynn Shyanne Brown, age 27, of North Bay, was charged with:
One count of possession of morphine pills for the purpose of trafficking; and
One count of possession of oxycodone pills for the purpose of trafficking

A 30-year-old North Bay woman was charged with one count of possession of morphine.

As a result of the investigation, North Bay Police seized as evidence:
21 morphine pills;
147 oxycodone pills;
$1,160 in Canadian currency; and
a flick knife.

The combined street value of all drugs seized is over $3,000.

All three accused were released from custody with court appearances scheduled for Mar. 21, 2017.
