Mattawa man charged with criminal harassment

A Mattawa man is charged with criminal harassment after complaints of trespassing on private property on Chenier Road, Papineau-Cameron Township.

OPP report that on the evening of May 2, officers responded to a trespass to property.

Police received information that a man had been besetting (trouble or threatening persistently), watching and trespassing onto properties causing damages in the evening hours, since the end of April.

Nathan Carriere, 28, from Mattawa, is charged with:

  • Criminal harassment - beset and watch a person known to the complainant
  • Two counts of trespassing at night
  • Four counts of failing to comply with a probation order
  • Mischief - destroys or damages property

Carriere was held for bail court, then remanded back into custody, and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice tomorrow in North Bay.
