Man arrested twice in 48 hours, this time for assault

North Bay police arrested a familiar suspect yesterday and charged him with assault.

Police say at 7:15 a.m. on August 15,  officers got a report that a man had trespassed onto the victim’s property on McLeod Street. When asked to leave the property by the victim, he became aggressive and tried to assault the victim. Police arrived and arrested him on the property.

The victim and accused are not known to one another.

Allan Dalton Johnston, 36, of North Bay, is charged with assault.

Johnston was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.

He's no stranger to police. They had arrested him just two days prior and charged him with arson and break and enter after a tent fire on Shea St.

After the arrest, Johnston was released on an undertaking.
