UPDATE: Motor vehicle collision involving motorcycle

Following an investigation into a motor vehicle collision between a van and a motorcycle that took place on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 5:17 p.m. at Lakeshore Drive and Marshall Avenue, North Bay Police issued a ticket to the 33-year-old female driver of the van for “Turn – not in safety” under 142 (1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The van, whose driver was making a left turn from the centre lane on Lakeshore Drive towards a retail parking lot, struck the motorcycle whose driver was travelling in the opposite direction in the centre lane. The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Both vehicles required towing.

Motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian

On Thursday, Sept. 15 at 8:08 p.m., North Bay Police were dispatched to McIntyre Street West near Cassells Street, to investigate a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

The car, whose female driver was travelling northbound in the centre lane of the one-way street, struck an 85-year-old female pedestrian who failed to use the marked crosswalk at the traffic lights to cross the street. The pedestrian was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

No charges were laid.
