Suspect found following canine track, structural fire

 On Oct. 19, at 9:48 p.m., officers from the Powassan Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residence in Nipissing to remove a male from the residence and investigate a breach of conditions. 

When officers attended the residence the suspect jumped out of the window and ran into the forest.   

The OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine were called to assist with the search. After a short track, officers located the male and placed him under arrest. 

A 23-year-old male from Kitchener has been charged with 3 counts of fail to comply with recognizance contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.  

The accused has been held for bail court on Oct.  20, 2017, at the Ontario Court of Justice North Bay. 

On Oct. 18, 2017, the Ontario Provincial Police, North Bay Detachment was called to Holden Lake to investigate a structural fire.

Police attended to a camp, on Holdridge Lake Road in Gladman Township, to find the camp and trailer both burned completely to the ground. The fires occurred sometime between Oct.17 at 1:30 p.m. and Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m.
