North Bay man charged with sexual assault Following an investigation into a sexual assault complaint, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 21-year-old North Bay man at police headquarters on Wednesday with: One count of sexual assault on a person

Due to this morning’s downpour of rain, there are downed power lines and trees in the City of North Bay. Lakeshore Drive is temporarily closed to traffic from Birches Road to Hwy 11.

The North Bay Police Service also asks motorists to please avoid Chippewa from Ferguson to Fisher due to flooding.

North Bay man charged with sexual assault

Following an investigation into a sexual assault complaint, North Bay Police arrested and charged a 21-year-old North Bay man at police headquarters on Wednesday with:
One count of sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age;
One count of sexual interference on a person under 16 years of age;
One count of breach of recognizance; and
One count of unauthorized possession of a weapon.

It is alleged that on October 5, the accused sexually assaulted a female victim, who was known to the accused.

Police located and seized from the accused a spring-loaded pocket knife following his arrest.

The accused was held in custody for a show cause hearing yesterday.

In the interest of protecting the identity of the victim, the North Bay Police Service will not be releasing the name of the accused.

The investigation continues. North Bay Police do not believe there are any other victims.
