Possession, trafficking, and failure to comply charges

The following are news releases from the North Bay Police Service:

On July, 18, 2017, members of the North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drug Substance Act search warrant on a Fraser Street residence. As a result of the search warrant police arrested and charged

Charles Rheo Joseph Foisy, aged 37 years, of North Bay

  • 3 counts Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • 1 count Possession of property obtained by crime

Police seized 457 5mg oxycodone pills (street value $3,227), 40 grams marihuana (street value $400) and 41.5 grams of methamphetamine tablets (street value $415). Police also seized the accused e-bike (valued at $2000) as offence related property.

The accused was released with court date of August 29, 2017.

On July 22, 2017 members of the North Bay Police Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into an unknown male from southern Ontario attending North Bay for the purpose of selling drugs. Police made arrangements to meet the unknown male for the purpose of purchasing drugs.

On July 27 2017 police arrested and charged Juan Martinez-Cabrera, aged 31 years, of Barrie, Ontario with:

  • 1 count Possession for the purpose of trafficking

  • 1 count Trafficking a substance

  • 1 count Possession of property obtained by crime

As a result of the investigation police seized 22 grams of crack cocaine (street value $2750) and $1390 in Canadian currency. The accused’s 2007 black Acura was also seized as offence related property.

The accused was released with court date of September 12, 2017.

On July 27, 2017 at approximately 9:30 p.m. members of the North Bay Police received reports of a possible impaired driver in the Main Street area.

Police located the vehicle on Cassells Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle fled the area, struck two buildings and came to a stop after colliding into a garage. The occupants of the vehicle then fled on foot and were located a short time later in the area.

Dustin Seddon, aged 21 years, of North Bay was charged with

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle – Criminal Code

  • Flight from police – Criminal Code

  • Fail to comply with probation

  • Fail to comply with recognizance

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 28, 2017.
