Argument at a housing complex leads to assault charge

A 44-year-old North Bay woman faces an assault charge after an argument escalated at a city housing complex.

A 44-year-old North Bay woman faces an assault charge after an argument escalated at a city housing complex.

Police say the woman and the victim had been arguing at the complex, and when the victim tried to disengage and return to her residence, she was followed into her home and assaulted.

Witnesses successfully separated the two women and contacted police.

No weapons were used in the assault.

The victim sustained minor physical injuries as a result of the assault. The victim and accused are known to one another.

Jennifer Marie Depencier, 44, is charged with assault and being unlawfully in a dwelling house.

Depencier was released on an undertaking and is set to appear before the court on September 20.
