The Sudbury Wolves website is indicating that the Ontario Hockey League franchise will host an exhibition game on Saturday, September 8th at Memorial Gardens. The Wolves will play an exhibition inter-league game against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL.

As first reported on BayToday.ca the city and Sudbury Wolves got into negotiations regarding the exhibition game back in mid-May.

The Wolves organization hopes to create more hockey buzz in a community which will be hosting the Hockeyville NHL exhibition game between the New York Islanders and Atlanta Thrashers just over a week later on September 17th.

“We’d like to offer autograph sessions and even show our support for North Bay to get an OHL team back,” said Blaine Smith, the Wolves Vice President of Hockey Operations back in May.

The Wolves are playing their entire six-game exhibition schedule on the road due to the 1.2 million dollars worth of renovations taking place at the Sudbury arena which will see the OHL facility add 12 corporate suites, 950 club seats, a new concession and a new score clock.
