The Sudbury Wolves will host the Rouyn Noranda Huskies on Saturday, September 8th at 7 p.m. at the North Bay Memorial Gardens.
The Sudbury Wolves will host the Rouyn Noranda Huskies on Saturday, September 8th at 7 p.m. at the North Bay Memorial Gardens.

This inter-league match-up will be the only one of it’s kind as the two teams will suit-up for a “exhibition” match-up in the city named: HOCKEYVILLE for 2007.

This out-of-market game is becoming a common theme in the OHL as several games will be played outside of OHL markets. Other exhibition games that will be played in out-of-market venues include:

Niagara Ice Dogs vs Erie Otters @ Jamestown
Oshawa Generals vs Mississauga Majors @ Newmarket
Sudbury Wolves vs Mississauga Majors @ Streetsville
Belleville Bulls vs Brampton Battalion @ Pickering
Belleville Bulls vs Kingston Frontenacs @ Napanee
Saginaw Spirit vs London Knights @ Woodstock
Peterborough Petes vs Mississauga Majors @ Port Credit

According to Wolves’ Vice-President Blaine Smith, playing games in out-of-town markets is a good thing.

"I think it is great that Sudbury and Rouyn are playing an exhibition game in North Bay because it will highlight the notoriety and success that the City of North Bay has claimed in the hockey world in 2007,” notes Smith.

“In addition, hosting a game in North Bay will attract hockey fans from Sudbury. I think it is a win-win situation as hockey fans in both cities will enjoy some entertaining junior hockey action in a terrific hockey venue – Memorial Gardens.”

Tickets are now on sale at the North Bay Memorial Gardens ticket office. All seats are priced at $10 for all ages and proceeds from the 50-50 draw will benefit the North Bay chapter of KIDSPORT. To reserve seats by credit card, contact the North Bay ticket office at (705) 474-3770.
