Two more arrested in Powassan break and enter

Police say they have arrested two more people after a break and enter that occurred at a residence on Weiler Line in Powassan August 8

Numerous tools and solar panels were stolen from the residence. One person, Ryan Summers, 45, of North Bay, was arrested and charged on August 9.

On August 19, North Bay OPP executed a search warrant on a storage unit in North Bay, and most of the property from the break and enter was recovered along with other items believed to be stolen from other crimes.

On August 26, as a result of a police investigation, two more people were arrested and charged. 

Valerie Degagner, 36, of North Bay is charged with:

  • Break and enter into a dwelling house 
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Possession of break-in Instruments
  • Fail to comply with a release order

Ronald Lawrence, 37, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Break and enter into a dwelling house 
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime
  • Fail to comply with a release order

Degagner and Lawrence were held pending bail and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on September 3.
