WYATT: Robert John

(1923-2006) In his 84th year surrounded by family and love in Richmond, Ontario John passed away on Thursday, December 14th. The second child of Robert Wyatt and Lily (Pavitt), both deceased.

John was born in New Liskeard, Ontario. An older sister Margaret resides in a
Nursing Home in Campbellford, Ontario. A brother Harry passed away in 1990.

Dearly beloved husband of Helen Rae (Stevenson), deceased. Loving father of Margaret, deceased (Dennis Babcock), Betty Parker (partner Mike Down), Robert and Richard (Catherine Chmara). Sorely missed by grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Julia Parker, Susan Horvath (Imre), Shelly Babcock, Hanya and Julia Wyatt, and by great grandchildren Justin Babcock, Nicholas and Holly Horvath and many nieces and cousins.



John served with the R.C.A.F. as a Bombing and Gunnery Systems Specialist during the Second World War at an Operational Training Base on the west coast. On his demobilization he assisted his father as a Registered Dental Technician in the Wyatt Dental Laboratory which he eventually owned and operated with an associate, M.C. Thomas.

John was also involved as a member and Chairman of the Governing Board of Dental Technicians of Ontario and as an executive member of the Dental Laboratories Association of Ontario.

He was active in Trinity United Church as a trustee and a member of the A.O.T.S. Club, as an elder serving as Clerk of Session and as Sunday School secretary and teacher for 10 years. He was also involved as a leader in the Scout and Cub movement and served briefly on the Group Committee.
John and his wife Helen helped sponsor Acklands/Bumper-to-Bumper Hockey Team and traveled to many games and tournaments with the team. They traveled
extensively with the Canadian Club and tour groups to many areas of Canada, the United States and overseas to visit family and relatives there.
He retired in 1984 to spend the winter months with his wife in Florida at their mobile home in Sarasota.

John was an avid stamp collector and member of the North Bay Stamp Club and a model railroad enthusiast with the North Bay Model Railway Club. His favorite outdoor sport was fishing for brook trout.

In later years, John visited at LeisureWorld as a volunteer visitor.


John's family will receive friends in the Martyn Funeral Home (across from
City Hall) on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held from the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 20th at 2:00 PM. Cremation with interment of ashes in the family plot at the North Bay Union Cemetery.

If desired, donations to the Trinity United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
