STOUGHTON, Scott Arnold

A native of North Bay, Scott Stoughton died Wednesday, August 23, at Campbell River, B.C. after a lengthy illness. He was 50 years of age. Scott is survived by his wife Diane, one son, Eric, and a daughter Katherine (Andrew Gardiner), and one grandson, Grayson Gardiner, all of the Campbell River-Black Creek area on Vancouver Island, B.C. Also surviving are his mother, Madelene Stoughton, and one brother, Grant Stoughton of North Bay.




Born and raised in North Bay, Scott attended Chippewa Secondary School, and was active in all swimming and diving programs at the Y.M.C.A. He later trained in underwater construction and professional diving at Seneca College in Toronto, and worked on dams throughout the north. In North Bay, he was on the team of divers who searched for and found the historic wreck of the “Fraser“ on Lake Nipissing. At Scott's request, there will be no public funeral service.
