Passed away at North Bay General Hospital, Scollard Site, Tuesday August 8, 2006 at the age of 83. He is survived by his children, Denis and Denise Truchon. Thomas was dear the brother of Henri Shields of North Bay, Elmire Beaupré of Astorville, Virginie Trudel of North Bay and Agnes St-Jean (Eugène) of Astorville. Predeceased by his parents, Marie-Laure (née Boutin) and Thomas Shields, two brothers, Arthur and Maurice, four sisters, Yvonne Larochelle, Marie-Laure Laporte, Louisa St-Jean and Élise Laporte.
Family and friends paid their respects at McGuinty Funeral Home, Thusday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass was celebrated at Paroisse St-Thomas d'Aquin, Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Astorville Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
