Unexpectedly, but peacefully, Mel Osborne died in his sleep at his Lake Nosbonsing (Corbeil) home on Wednesday November 8, 2006 in his 90th year. Mel was the beloved husband of 64 years to Dorothy (Janes) of Corbeil. He was the loving brother of the late Rosamond Richardson of Corbeil. Lovingly remembered by daughter Beverley Predon (Gary) of Guelph and son Robert Osborne (Andree) of Oakville and grandchildren Katie and Daniel of Guelph and Michelle and Allan of Oakville and one great granddaughter Kasenya of Guelph.
Mel served for his country in WWII, was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and was an enthusiastic local artist. He loved the North and the northerners. He will be missed by his family and friends and former colleagues (Singer Sewing Machine Co.)
The family will receive friends at the Martyn Funeral Home on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 11:00 am Burial will follow in the Callander Union Cemetery.
