It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Brenda Morrison (nee Potter) on July 27, 2020 at Ottawa General Hospital at the age of 67 years. Dearly loved wife for 37 years, buddies and her rock eno, Ian Morrison. Dear sister of Jeff Potter (Nahoko) and Laurie Shydlowsky (Andrew). Sadly, missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by her parents James (Jim) and Barbara Potter (nee White) and her youngest brother Larry. Brenda was a dedicated Nurse who touched many souls both in work and in play. She was a big-hearted lady, an unstoppable force, who gently touched so many with a “go girl” attitude. She was involved in so many activities including world wide travel, camping, long distance swimming, biking, les kayak girls, Ryde kayak girls, Girl Guides, Trefoil Guild, Ryde Lake Camp, Sturgeon Falls Legion, Strong Kweg Drumming Circle, Rug hookers group, knitting group, sewing, curling, skating, gym, cross country ski/snowshoe club and previously an OPP Auxiliary officer, handler with the St. John’s Ambulance Therapy dog program with her loyal companion Makwa, she also previously enjoyed her motorcycles, boating, snowmobile and ice fishing. The family will receive visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (Sturgeon Falls) on Wednesday August 12, 2020 from 11 am – 1 pm. A private family service will be conducted. In accordance with current directives from the Bereavement Authority of Ontario regarding COVID 19 the total number of attendees is limited, and additional precautions are in place. Face masks are mandatory at the funeral home. Donations in Brenda’s memory can be made to The Ottawa Hospital Foundation – Stem Cell Research would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
