MILLAR (nee Cooke) - Mrs. Rita Alice

Peacefully at Cassellholme, North Bay, on Monday August 14th, 2006 while in her 86th year. Rita Alice (nee Cooke) for the past 63 years was the beloved wife of Robert James Millar. Proud and loving mother of Lee-Ann Smith of North Bay, Sharron Day of Hamilton, Wanda Perdue (John) of Toronto, and Robert (Ann) of Iroquois Falls. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Lesa (Derrick), Jay, Chris (Jessica), Kimberly, john, Sean and Claire and her great grandchildren Tanner, Taytum, Taylor and Samuel. Predeceased by her two brothers and six sisters she was the last surviving child of the late William and Helena Cooke.

A dedicated mother and grandmother, in her younger years Rita was a pertinacious knitter, and a great swimmer and skier. Long time residents of Iroquois Falls the Millars moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1978 then retired to North Bay in 1984.



Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday August 17th 2006 at 1:30 p.m..
