KOIVISTO, Roy Carl

Following a lengthy illness and with his family at his side Roy Koivisto died peacefully at the North Bay General Hospital on Saturday September 16th, 2006 at the age of 69 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 46 years Brenda (nee Boyes). The proud and loving father of Charlene Koivisto- Moreau and her husband Dennis of Barrie, and Steven and his wife Becky of North Bay. Papa will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Tristan Moreau and Kendal and Keane Koivisto. Dear brother of Harold (Georgette) of Courtney, BC., and Mildred Moeller (John) of London. He was predeceased by his sister Peggy Tomspette. Born and raised in Mattawa Roy began his career with Bell Canada there and retired 37 years later as a manager with the North Bay office.



A dedicated husband and father Roy was a fun loving man, generous with his time and talents and always there to help in anyway he could. He valued his memberships in the Masonic Lodge # 420, A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite and the Shrine Club. Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Tuesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.



A Masonic Lodge Memorial Services will be held in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday September 20th at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. If desired donations to the Gerry & Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy. Roy's family are most grateful for the compassion and care extended to him by the staff of the Von, the CCAC and the wonderful staff of the CCU at the General Hospital.
