It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Joan Holmes on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at the age of 87. For 55 years she was the beloved wife of the late Harold "Harry" Holmes who predeased her in 2012. Loving mother of two sons Bryan ( Lori ) and Gregory. Cherished grandmother of Shawna Holmes, Courtney Scott( Ryan ), Natalie Collette, Justin Holmes and Natasha Price ( Joshua ). Great grandma of Skyler Collette. Joan always had time to listen, to play, to share and to help. She enjoyed every minute she spent with her family. Joan was predeceased by her parents Charles and Mildred Caley and her brothers Thomas and George and her sisters Winnifred ( Jackson ) and Inez. She was a faithful and active member of Laurier Avenue United Church for many, many years and was heart broken when it closed in 2012 due to declining membership. She was a dedicated hardworking member of Nipissing Rebekah Lodge #152 for over 50 years. For over 40 years she was a member of the Franklin Street Ladies Club and enjoyed their monthly get-to-gethers until father time started to take his toll. Respecting Joan's wishes there will be no visitation or formal service. Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred next to her husband in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
