BARRÉ, Wilfred Maurice “Mo”

Peacefully with his family at his side, at the North Bay General Hospital on Tuesday August 29th, 2006. Born in Hartney Manitoba on January 31st, 1925, Maurice “Mo”, was predeceased in 1985 by his first wife Doris (nee Parcher) and will be lovingly remembered by his life long friend and second wife Ione Grainger (nee Smith). The proud and loving father of Maurine Waldick (Bruce) of North Bay, Lynn Barré of Ottawa, and Randy Barré (Lyn) of Montreal, Mo will also be sadly missed by his step children Sherry Lee Armstrong (Bob), Tom Grainger (Libby) and Bruce Grainger (Cathy) all of North Bay. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michael-Ann Lake (Sean) of Ottawa, & Greg Barré of Montreal, and step grandchildren Damian Dorschner, Brenna, Rebecca, Sara, Maggie, Emma and Devan Grainger. Dear brother of Vivienne Nelson of Kirkland Lake, Blanche McDonald, Iris Jeppesen, Josephine Bowman of Kirkland Lake, Esther David of Arizona, Mary Abel, Elsie Pedneaud (Pete), and Charlie Little (Irene) both of Sturgeon Falls. Predecased by his brothers William Barré and Ross and Clifford Little and sisters Mona and Verna.




Mo grew up in Larder Lake and was a veteran serving overseas during WWII. In retirement he thoroughly enjoyed traveling and was an avid golfer. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.



Friends may call at the MARTYN FUNERAL HOME (across from city hall) on Thursday from 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 pm. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in Trinity United Church on Friday September 1st 2006 at 2:00 pm. If desired donations to the Cancer Society or Trinity United Church Food Bank will be gratefully acknowledged as expressions of sympathy.
