Sleeping 'suspicious' man arrested for drugs

Nipissing West OPP responded to a complaint of a suspicious person inside a building on the evening of May 29 in Sturgeon Falls and found a person asleep in the Front Street hallway. 

Further investigation revealed the person was in possession of a controlled substance and was subsequently arrested.

Officers seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be Fentanyl. The street value of the drugs is approximately $500.

Travis Emond, 27, from West Nipissing, is charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance - opioid.

Emond was released by way of an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on September 3 in West Nipissing.
