Police called to 106 domestic related calls in February

There was a total of 76 criminal charges and one provincial offence.

Over the month of February 2016, the North Bay Police Service responded to 106 domestic-related calls. As a result of police investigations into these complaints, 29 people were arrested and charged. There was a total of 76 criminal charges and one provincial offence.

23 men were arrested and charged. The charges were:

  • 19 assaults
  • 1 assault causing bodily harm
  • 4 assaults with a weapon
  • 1 theft
  • 1 break and enter
  • 2 sexual assaults
  • 2 mischiefs
  • 8 utter threats
  • 2 criminal harassments
  • 2 charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • 25 breaches of release orders

6 women were arrested and charged. The charges were:

  • 4 assaults
  • 2 assaults with weapon
  • 1 mischief
  • 1 provincial offence under the Liquor Licence Act
  • 2 breaches of release orders
