It was with great enthusiasm and pride that the students and staff of North Bay's Héritage and Odyssée public schools joined forces on Friday, December 1, to conclude the grand return of their annual food drive.

The two schools succeeded in collecting nearly 6,400 food products, representing 3,179 pounds of food, in addition to financial donations and gift cards that are donated to the North Bay Food Bank.

The Héritage and Odyssée school communities created a long human chain to highlight the collaboration between the two schools and the importance of their collective commitment to this cause.  Students and staff took the collected merchandise to the trucks that delivered it.

"The event was a great success, thanks to the generosity of the families of students and staff from both schools," said Mathieu Perron, principal of École secondaire publique Odyssée.

He says that the school communities have been very supportive of this school-community initiative. "This activity is a great opportunity for our students, families and staff members to support the community and people in need, especially with the holiday season approaching."
