The North Bay Police Service is investigating an accident near the intersection of Regina and McIntyre streets around 3 p.m. today.

A woman crossing McIntyre was hit by a vehicle and was taken to hospital with a separated shoulder, a fractured leg and head injuries which hadn't yet been assessed, police said.

A man on the spot who identified himself as Paul said he heard a thud and the sound of cracking glass. He said he went over to the woman, who gave her name as Irene.
The woman's leg was twisted "at the wrong angle," said Paul, who added he'd taken some medical training.
No charges will be laid, police said.
