Vehicle stop results in coke bust

A 26-year-old North Bay man faces multiple drug charges after being stopped in his vehicle Thursday, said Det. Sgt. Bill O’Shea, of the Drug Enforcement Section of the Ontario Provincial Police.

Members of Project Gateway, a joint investigation between members of the OPP and the North Bay Police Service, made the vehicle stop.

After the arresting the man, police subsequently searched him and seized cash and cocaine.

“This was not a random stop,” O’Shea said.

Jason Sarazin, of Kodiak Crescent in North Bay is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine; trafficking cocaine; possession of cocaine; and breach of undertaking.

He remains in policy custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing Nov. 27.

The approximately value of the drugs seized is $6,500. Approximately $1,900 cash was seized.
