Canadore College’s full-time students may be eligible to receive a grant saving them 30 per cent on their tuition costs.

Premier Dalton McGuinty and Training, Colleges and Universities Minister Glen Murray announced that as of January 1, 2012, students with a family income of $160,000 or less per year will be eligible for a tuition rebate.

Qualifying students attending Canadore this January will receive $365 and $730 if starting in September 2012.

“Many students face financial challenges as they attend college,” said Canadore’s President George Burton.

“We are pleased that this provincial incentive will in fact increase access to postsecondary education and allow more students to obtain the skills they need to enter into the competitive marketplace.”

Registration for full-time programming in January 2012 is is still available within the Schools of Business and Management; Language, Access and Preparatory Studies; Media, Design and Dramatic Arts; Sport and Recreation and Trades and Technology.

Students who receive Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) funding will automatically be considered for the grant.

All other eligible learners must submit an application at http: www.ontario.ca/30off for consideration.
