Toronto - North Bay Regional Science Fair (NBRSF) regional award winners, James Ross and Isaiah Saunders of St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, have been selected as members of Team Canada - MILSET 2011.

Background: James Ross and Isaiah Saunders of St. Joseph-Scollard Hall for their project “Going Green: The Aspen Solution” which won The Sci-Tech Ontario Stepping Stone Award, The Trans Canada Award, the Northgate Square Biotech Award, the University of Ottawa Scholarship, the Ontario Ministry of Environment Innovator Award, the Rotary Club of North Bay Senior Environmental Award, the Nipissing Naturalists Club Award, and a gold medal in the Senior Earth & Environment category.

North Bay Regional Science Fair (NBRSF) regional award winners, James Ross and Isaiah Saunders of St. Joseph-Scollard Hall, have been selected as members of Team Canada - MILSET 2011. Together with 19 other top young scientists in Ontario, they will travel to Slovakia to participate in the Expo-Sciences International 2011 (ESI), joining 1500 students from more than 75 countries from around the world.

This is a Youth Science celebration, organized every two years by MILSET (Mouvement International pour le Loisir Scientifique et Technique).

The prestigious MILSET Expo -Sciences International 2011, being held in Bratislava, Slovakia, will provide James and Isaiah the opportunity to share Canadian values, ideals and culture with young scientists from around the world. MILSET will be held July 18 through 24, 2011.

At the North Bay Regional Science Fair, James and Isaiah won the Sci-Tech Ontario Stepping Stone Award, The Trans Canada Award, the Northgate Square Biotech Award, the University of Ottawa Scholarship, the Ontario Ministry of Environment Innovator Award, the Rotary Club of North Bay Senior Environmental Award, the Nipissing Naturalists Club Award, and a gold medal in the Senior Earth & Environment category, for their project 'Going Green: The Aspen Solution.'

The Canada-Wide Science Fair is currently underway in Toronto, Ontario. Judging was completed on Tuesday, and the Awards Ceremony will be held this evening, May 19th.

NBRSF Chair Mike Pearsall commented, “We congratulate our regional students on being selected for the MILSET event. We are very proud of their accomplishments and wish them every success.”
