So I keep seeing pictures of cities shut down. Highways bare. Governments are so proud of their citizens.

And then I go to work.

I work in retail ( pharmacy actually) and we're considered an essential service. Let me tell you what that means to our customers.

It means our parking lots are full. It means customers come in to check their lottery and get upset when we tell them the lottery is closed. It means they wonder and putter around checking out deals and discounts. Granted sometimes doing that while waiting for a prescription, but still. It means they still come in to get their morning paper and cases of pop and bags of chips.

They get upset when we ask them to keep their distance or to pack their own reusable bags.

They call us names and accuse us of things when something isn't in stock.

Now don't get me wrong, we have a lot of great customers that are nice and polite and thank us when they cash out but it loses a little sincerity to us when all you've purchased is your non-essential chips and pop and chocolate bars. It means they are not respecting the special distance and putting us at risk.

We have been nonstop since everything else has closed.

We are in danger because people really have no idea how to use gloves or how to wear a mask. They have no idea the little things they do to put us in danger but have no problem being indignant if we try to explain or help.

We deal with this every day because we have no choice.

But my city hasn't grasped the real seriousness of what is going on. It really needs to be where everything is shut down for people to really appreciate how good they have it.

I'm sorry, I know this is long but we are getting more and more scared and frustrated at the lack of sense. Please use our services wisely. Come in and get only what you really need.

Help keep us safe PLEASE!!!!!! Otherwise, you are going to lose us!!!
