Ontario Northland wishes to issue the following clarification with respect to its media release, “Ontario Northland to Add 22 New Flag Stop Locations Along Motor Coach Routes”, issued earlier on January 12, 2011.

Flag stop service will be available to passengers at the North Bay Education Centre and the Northern College – South Porcupine Campus, in both southbound and northbound directions, at select times on Fridays and Sundays only.

Ontario Northland is pleased to announce that it will be adding 22 new flag stop locations along its current motor coach routes, effective January 15, 2011.

"We are excited to offer our passengers increased convenience as we extend our motor coach services into more communities in our region," said Paul Goulet, President and CEO of Ontario Northland. "We are always looking for ways to better meet the needs of our customers and our communities in Northeastern Ontario in a fiscally responsible manner."

A flag stop location means that the bus will only stop if passengers are visible on the side of the highway (or at the designated location) and signal (flag) the bus to request pick-up or if passengers have advised that their final destination is in one of these locations.
These additional flag stop locations will make it more convenient for passengers in the region to access Ontario Northland's motor coach services as they provide for reduced travel time to access the nearest bus stop.
