Patty Hajdu, the Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced the roster of 112 businesses and organizations that will take part in the FedNor-funded Northern Ontario Mining Showcase (NAMES) at the 2024 Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) International Convention which takes place from March 3 to 6 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

"Led by the City of Temiskaming Shores, NOMS provides a unique opportunity for exhibitors to increase sales, exports and showcase Northern Ontario innovation, including some of the latest in mining equipment, tools, products, services, and clean-tech," says a news release. "Spanning an impressive 13,200 square feet and featuring a jam-packed roster of mining supply and services exhibitors, the pavilion will be one of the largest attractions at the world's premier mineral exploration and mining convention."

The Government of Canada spent $781,750 to support the continued evolution of the pavilion for 2024.

"Since its inception in 2015, the FedNor-funded pavilion has nearly tripled in size and helped participants create over 900 jobs and generate more than $100 million in increased sales," says the release.

“The annual Northern Ontario Mining Showcase is a proven economic driver. It continues to help create more than 900 jobs and has delivered over $100 million in economic benefits for Northern Ontario. Our mining supply and service sector is vital to the success of our region and this event is making a concrete difference in the lives of our middle-class families," said Hajdu.

“The Northern Ontario Mining Showcase will be the largest pavilion at PDAC 2024 and a must-see for convention goers seeking new business, clients, and contacts," said Nipissing–Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota. "It's exciting that the FedNor-funded pavilion once again features a jam-packed roster so that as many businesses as possible can capitalize on this opportunity. This year alone, NOMS is expected to help participants increase sales and exports by more than $10 million while helping to create 75 jobs and maintain 100 more.”

“Temiskaming Shores is proud to lead the Northern Ontario Mining Showcase initiative to help maximize global opportunities for Northern Ontario communities and businesses," added Jeff Laferriere, Mayor of Temiskaming Shores.
