Mayor Al jumps for joy over BeYou

"We had an excellent turnout and are excited that our BeYou Lounge is now open for Big Brothers Big Sisters to use for outreach and for their GoGirls! meet ups.”

The launch for the BeYou campaign at the Northgate Shopping Centre had participants invigorated. A zumba lesson, yoga, and a jumpwall got everyone’s blood pumping.

North Bay Mayor Al McDonald was in on the action at the jumpwall, reaching for the stars.  He fully supports the BeYou campaign developed by Morguard to empower girls and young women to support each other and go for it.

Morguard provides property management for Northgate. In a press release, Morguard stated, “BeYou is an intelligent investment for Canada’s future.”

The fun of Saturday’s event isn’t over. The BeYou Lounge was unveiled.

Jordanna Grant, the marketing director at Northgate Shopping Centre said the launch went extremely well. “We had an excellent turnout and are excited that our BeYou Lounge is now open for Big Brothers Big Sisters to use for outreach and for their GoGirls! meet ups.”

Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Bay and District, Darlene Jamieson says of the partnership, “We deliver programs right in the classroom. After the bell rings we bring in mentors from Nipissing University. They deliver the program over two hours for seven weeks. Morguard wants to help us fundraise and they want to help us promote. To do that, they gave us retail space in the mall. They transformed it into a beautiful lounge.”

Jamieson adds that when Go Girls! is not in session, they will be promoting and recruiting for mentors from the BeYou Lounge.
