This weekend the North Bay Literacy Council will join others across Canada celebrating Family Literacy Day by participating in activities designed to promote reading and
learning.

The Rotaract Club of North Bay–Nipissing has taken this opportunity to run a “Lightly Loved Literature Sale” to help support our Literacy Council itself. The sale will be held this Saturday, January 28 from 9-5pm and Sunday, January 29th from 12-5pm at the North Bay Mall near the No Frills Entrance.

Over the last few weeks and months Rotaract has been collecting books generously donated by community members. A huge selection including thousands of soft and hardcovered books of all kinds is now available for sale at incredibly affordable prices ($1 softcovers / $2 hardcovers /$10 a bag).

The Literature Sale will encourage children and adults to enjoy a book while contributing to a good cause, as ALL funds collected go directly to the Literacy Council.

The North Bay Literacy Council provides programs to help adults who require assistance with reading, writing, math, spelling and computer skills.

They also offer programs in Family Literacy and Literacy & Health and GED preparation.

Their programs rely primarily on volunteers.
