Tuesday, January 31 was a special day for staff, physicians and volunteers at the North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC). It marks exactly one year since our new state-of-the-art hospital opened for patient care.

The physical move of patients and staff took place over a number of weeks, beginning in early January 2011 and culminating on January 29 and 30, with the move from the former Northeast Mental Health Centre and the former North Bay General Hospital sites.

“I still can’t believe it when I say that we are celebrating one year in our new facility,” says Mark Hurst, NBRHC President & CEO.

“The amount of work that has been accomplished in the past year by our staff, physicians, volunteers and Board is incredible.”

“This year we moved to our new hospital, officially amalgamated our two former organizations, worked on balancing our budget, reducing our Alternative Level of Care length of stay days, all while continuing to provide our patients with the quality care they have come to expect from the NBRHC. I am so proud of our team.”
