Couple arrested after truck stolen off dealership lot

A North Bay man and woman have been arrested after a pickup truck was stolen from the lot of a McKeown Ave. car dealership last week.

On March 12 officers were called after the dealership noticed the truck missing. It's believed the theft occurred sometime during the previous week.

Investigation revealed that on March 3, two people arrived at the lot around 10:30 p.m. and stole a 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited double cab, black in colour, valued at over $54, 000. 

The North Bay Police Service Street Crime Unit became involved, and on March 20, with the assistance of the Patrol section, found and arrested both.

Upon arrest, one of the accused was found to have a small quantity of crystal meth, and was charged accordingly.  

Although the stolen pick-up truck has not been recovered yet, another vehicle that was used in the crime was seized by police.

Seizures by police as a result of this investigation;

  • 0.9 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • 2013 Ford Escape

Daryl Marc Carriere, 40,  is charged with;

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Trafficking of goods obtained by crime
  • Possession of a controlled substance (crystal meth)
  • Breach of probation

Crystal Lynn Gagne, 38, is charged with;

  • Theft of a motor vehicle
  • Trafficking of goods obtained by crime
  • Two counts of driving while under suspension

Both accused have been held in custody for a bail hearing.
