The North Bay Battalion added another defenceman to its arsenal.

The North Bay Battalion has signed defenceman Aaron Enright to an education and development agreement, the Ontario Hockey League club announced Monday.

The Battalion chose Enright, a left shot, in the fourth round, 81st overall, of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection from the Renfrew Wolves U18s.

Enright played the 2023-24 season with the junior A Central Canada Hockey League’s Renfrew Wolves, scoring 4 goals and earning 5 assists for 9 points with 38 penalty minutes in 40 games.

Enright was coached last season by former Cochrane Crunch coach Ryan Leonard in Renfrew.

A 6'2", 195-pound resident of Cobden, Ont., turned 17 on March 28.

“We’re pleased to add Aaron, who’ll be an important piece to our future defence corps,” said general manager Adam Dennis in a release.

“Aaron is a physical defenceman who makes it difficult for opposing players to play in his team’s end. He also possesses a heavy shot and a strong first pass, which has made him an effective player this season with Renfrew.

“We look forward to seeing Aaron in Battalion green before long.”

The Battalion is to hold its spring development camp for prospects Saturday and Sunday at Memorial Gardens.

Players will report for registration at 9 a.m. Saturday and undergo fitness testing before an intrasquad scrimmage at 4 p.m. A second scrimmage is scheduled at 9 a.m. Sunday before camp breaks at 11:30 a.m.

Admission to the intrasquad sessions is free.
