Former Battalion star defenceman Brenden Miller has inked his first pro deal. 

Director of Hockey Operations & AHL Governor Brad Lynn announced that the Toronto Marlies have agreed to terms with Miller, and a handful of other prospects Friday afternoon.  

Miller, 21, is a 6'1 defenceman who spent the last 5 seasons in the OHL, splitting time between the North Bay/Brampton Battalion. Undrafted, the Orangeville, Ontario native set highs in goals (19), assists (36) and points (55) while contributing 12 points in 15 playoff games this past season with North Bay.

Miller is the Battalion franchise's all-time goals and points leader among defencemen with 129 (37-92--129) over his 248 game OHL career.

Miller was accompanied by OHL alumni Andrew Campbell (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds), Patrick Watling (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds) and Brett Findlay (Peterborough Petes) in signing with the Marlies.

The signing also includes an invitation to the Toronto Maple Leafs Prospects Development Camp which begins on July 7th.
