Voodoos announce home schedule

The Powassan Voodoos announced their 2015-16 home schedule in the expanded NOJHL which jumped from 9 teams to 12 during this off-season.

The Powassan Voodoos announced their 2015-16 home schedule in the expanded NOJHL which jumped from 9 teams to 12 during this off-season. 

The Voodoos, who were an expansion team in the NOJHL in 2014, will open their regular season home schedule against the Elliot Lake Wildcats on Monday, September 14th at the Powassan Sportsplex to begin the 27 game home schedule. 

Other highlighted games early in the season include the Espanola Express, who are led by former North Bay Jr. Trappers head coach and former NHL All-Star Tom McCarthy.  The Express rolls in for its first visit to Powassan on Monday, September 21st.     

All games this season are 7 pm puck drops. 

The Voodoos will also entertain the new U.S. team in the league, the Soo Eagles, who jumped back to the NOJHL after spending the past three years in the North American Hockey League.  They make their only regular season stop in Powassan on Saturday, October 17th. 

The Voodoos will see a lot of their new French River rival in the second half of the season.   The Voodoos will play their first home contest against Moe Mantha's French River Rapids on Monday, January 25th; one of four visits they will make in the 2015-16 schedule.
