Thunderbirds soar at Sudbury Long Course Meet

The CFB North Bay Thunderbirds were flying high at the Eastside Mario's Long Course Invitational Swim Meet this past weekend.  This long course event draws competitive swimmers from select clubs across Ontario.

Leading the team in points were Trael Daly Stevens and Jane Chirico.  Trael and Jane both brought home multiple top three, and top eight finishes.

Jesse Hammond also captured a top three position bringing home a bronze medal, while top eight honours went to Leah Chirico, Annika Lainevool, Kylie Manning, Rachelle Ouellette, Peyton Paralovos, Hailey Passmore, Jillian Picco, and Olivia Trottier.

The girls 13-14 relay team comprised of Hailey Passmore, Jane Chirico, Jillian Picco and Leah Chirico made waves and secured a silver finish in their 4x50 medley relay event.

Personal best times were achieved by swimmers Lindsay Greig, William Hotson, Emilia Lainevool, Noah Papatheodorou, Cole Paralovos, Ryleigh Paralovos, and Jaiden Paralovos.

Coaches Pierre Simard, Penny Lecour, Hillar Lainevool, and Ray Picco were pleased with the results during the meet and the success and growth of all swimmers.

The Thunderbirds will be competing next at the Fred Rams Championship Swim Meet May 23-24th. The meet is being hosted by the Timmins Marlins Swim Club at the at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex.
