Apollo's Summersby wins bronze in Vaughan

Over this past weekend, 3 members of Apollo Gymnastics men's team attend the Vaughan Gymnastics 23rd Annual Invitational Competition in Vaughan, Ontario.

Over this past weekend, 3 members of Apollo Gymnastics men's team attend the Vaughan Gymnastics 23rd Annual Invitational Competition in Vaughan, Ontario.

Level 3 competitor Alex Summersby, was Apollo's top performer bringing home five medals in total.

Summersby earned a gold medal on the parallel bars as well as a silver medal in pommel horse and a pair of bronze medals for his floor and high bar routines. Summersby placed third all around out of eight competitors from across the province.

Also competing the Level 3 category was teammate John Green. Green placed fourth on the pommel horse and high bar as well as fifth on floor.

Unfortunately, due to an injury sustained during the warm-up for the floor, Green was unable to finish the competition.

Competing in the Level 1 category was Griffin Lamarche. Lamarche placed fourth on the pommel horse, rings and vault. He was awarded sixth place overall out of nine competitors.

Up next, Apollo's men's and women's teams will be attending the Sunshine Classic competition, taking place May 29th to 31st at Nipissing University.
