Gosselin is also the co-founder of the Vision Volleyball program and was directly responsible for the development of the club’s brand and philosophy. He currently sits on the Board for the club and chairs coaching development, equipment management and uniform design.

He also writes a semiannual article in the Vision newsletter to educate parents and players on volleyball culture.

Danny was instrumental in creating the High Performance program enabling younger players a better opportunity to receive extra play and skill development in a smaller setting.

Gosselin, a National level 3 Coach, also created a mentoring program for new coaches with a goal toward teaching the technical and tactical knowledge of the game.

Gosselin co-created the Vision Summer Volleyball program with friend and mentor John Jeffries. This camp has attracted hundreds of young volleyball players in the area from all ages.

Over the years, Danny has also volunteered his coaching expertise to camps such as Olympia Sports Camp (Huntsville) and the Tops Volleyball Academy (Toronto).

Danny’s Vision Volleyball teams have achieved a great deal of success at the Provincial and National level. His U15 girls’ team hauled in a total of 4 tournament medals (2 Gold and 2 Bronze). To cap off the season the team travelled to Sherbrooke, Quebec to compete in the Nationals and came away winning Division 2 Gold!

At the provincial level, Danny was a part of the 2014 National Team Training Centre coaching staff for Ontario. His U19 Boys team did not lose a single set on their way to winning gold at the National Championships, an unprecedented achievement.

In 2014 Danny was honoured by the Ontario Volleyball Association for his outstanding contribution as assistant coach for the men’s team at the 2013 Canada games. Today he is the only coach who still remains with the team.

Danny still feels a need to continue with the development of the sport, so he is starting a Timbits program aimed at younger players in the North Bay area in April 2015.

Gosselin will receive the Al Brennan Award at the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame banquet on May 2nd at the Best Western in North Bay.  Those interested in searching past inductees are invited to explore the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame website at http://www.northbaysportshalloffame.ca
