Peewee A Ice Boltz win Provincial Silver

Auntie Jane's Too/Assante Wealth Management Peewee A Ice Boltz came home with a silver medal in the OWHA Provincial Championship held on the weekend. The Boltz went 3-0 during round robin play defeating Flamborough, Whitby and Barrie.

The Boltz went 3-0 during round robin play defeating Flamborough, Whitby and Barrie.

In the Quarter finals the Boltz faced Ontario's 6th ranked team Brampton Canadettes. The girls played a strong game at both ends of the rink winning 3-0.

Semi final action the Boltz up against 7th ranked team Chatham Outlaws. Down 1-0 going into the 3rd, the Boltz solved the strong goaltending performance beating the Outlaws 2-1.

The final would see the #1 and #3 ranked teams in Ontario play for gold.

The Boltz waited 8 long months to play this team. Oakville Hornets defeated them 2-1 in a tournament back in September.

The final game was fast and exciting ending 1-1 after regulation.

However, the Hornets scored a controversial goal in the 3rd overtime period to end the hopes for that gold medal.

The girls wrapped up a very successful season winning gold in the NDHL peewee boys rep league and having a record of 52 wins, 16 losses and 5 ties throughout their season.

The coaches are more then impressed with the girls overall performance, dedication and efforts they have shown all year.
