Minor Bantam AAA Trappers win NOHA title

The North Bay & District Trappers Association Moose's Cookhouse Minor Bantam AAA Trappers won their best of 5 NOHA championship series 3 games to 1 over the Soo Greyhounds after winning games 3 and 4 this weekend in Powassan.

On Saturday the Trappers were lead by Hunter Foreshew with 2 goals and 1 assist. Ian Denomme, Matt Hardwick and Ryan Mills each scored once and added a helper. Ethan Allair also scored in the 6-3 win. Payton Vescio and Jacob Peterson-Galema chipped in two assists with single helpers going to Gage King, Currie Giesler, Sam Garagan and Cole Craft.

In the championship clinching win on Sunday the Trappers were lead by Vescio with 2 goals and Garagan with 1 goal and 1 assist. Mills and Foreshew scored the other Trapper goals. Denomme added 2 assists while Hardwick, Foreshew, Craft, Allair and Nick Wojick also helped set up goals. Joel Rainville had both victories between the pipes.

Other team members include goalie Jacob Steringa and defence men Spencer Jones and Captain Kobe Seguin who set the tone with their physical play. Team staff include Justin Huycke, Kevin Vescio, Glenn Craft, Terry Foreshew and Scott Huycke.
