On the weekend (March 1st 2015), the annual YBC 4 Steps-To-Stardom Provincial tournament was held in Sudbury.

This is the 3rd step on the way to the national tournament in which the best youth bowlers in the country compete. In order to qualify for this tournament, the bowlers had to win their respective divisions in the two prior rungs of the tournament.  Two teams and two single bowlers from Chatelanes Bowling in Sturgeon Falls qualified for this tournament.

The bantam boys won gold in their division competing among the best bowlers in Northern Ontario. The gold medal bantam boys team members are: Xavier Lafleur, Devin Boucher, Connor Lafleur, Jacob Crawford and coach Marc Lafleur.

The girls combo team took silver. The team members include: Nora McLeod, Kaylee Carmichael, Ryane Lafleur and coach Guy Benoit.

Patrick Perrin won silver for the senior boys singles division.

It was Connor Williams first year competing as a single in the bantam boys division. He bowled well above his average and had some very good games.

The gold medalists will be representing Chatelanes Bowling, the Gateway zone and Northern Ontario in the nationals. This year the nationals will be held in the Toronto area from May 2nd to May 6th.

Congratulations to all the participants, good luck and best wishes to the bantam boys at nationals!
