The Temiscaming Titans are headed for the semi-finals courtesy of their second series three game sweep, this time making quick work of the Rama Aces in the best-of-five Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League quarter-final series.

Playing three games in three days, the Titans outscored the Aces 9-1 in the series.

The Titans opened the series on Thursday, February 26th with a 4-1 win at the Centre.  Curtis Warren had 2 goals and 1 assists while Brandon Case and Joey Molfetta had the others. Shots in game 1 were 65-25 in favour of the Titans.

The two clubs headed south for a Friday, February 27th affair in Rama.  A goaltenders duel lasted 47 minutes before Markus Mossin of the Titans managed the only goal of the game.  It was the only goal needed to seal a 1-0 shutout for Craig Wood. Shots were 57-46 for the Titans.

On Saturday February 28th, the Titans back playing in front of their hometown fans sent them home happy as they handed the Aces a 4-0 defeat and eliminated them from the playoffs. First period goals by Dayton Murray and Danny Visitor held up until early in the final period when Daniel Britts made in 3-0.

A late power play goal by Andreas Nordkvist sealed the series clinching game for the Titans.

Craig Wood had his 4th shutout of the playoffs.  Wood’s stats during the playoffs are impressive to say the least, 5 wins, and a 0.20 goals against average, along with a nearlly perfect .994 save percentage.  Shots were 58-32 for the Titans.

The Titans next oponents will be known as soon as the other 3 series can declare a winner.
