A pair of West Ferris teams braved the cold as they took part in the Trappers Winter Classic on Saturday afternoon outdoors at the Bill Barber Complex in Callander.

The West Ferris Atom A Trappers and the West Ferris Ferris Novice AA Trappers came out on rubber runways much like the NHL version of the high profile event.

Like many of their Winter Classic NHL idols, many of the youngsters wore balaclava's and two of the Novice goaltenders sported Trappers toques over their goalie masks.

With temperatures hovering around -5, the game which was played in two 30 minute halves was very comfortable for the players, coaches and even the fans that watched from the side of the boards.

At least it wasn't -30 again.

In the end, the Atom Trappers came out with a 7-5 win in the exhibition game between the Nipissing District Hockey League teams.

Team members include:
Atom A Trappers: Camren Johnson, Kye Lazarou, Maxime McDonald, Reese Desroches, Blake Norman, Easton Stanley, Sloan Shiavo, Evan Wells, Brandon Barker, Riley Filiatrault, Benjamin Franz, Zedrick Fortin, Joshua Devost, Drew Spencer, and Teaken Brazeau.

Novice AA Trappers: Jackson Curran, Johnny Couch, Caleb Perron, Masen Wray, Patrick Young, MaCrea Cazabon, Caleb Dawson, Davis Anello, Marshall McCharles, Noah St. Jean, Beau Herron, Noah Dugas, Nate Gravelle, Tyler Moore and Connor Filiatrault.
