NORTH BAY, ON - When you shoot pucks at the net good things can happen.

Sometimes it doesn't matter from where.

Dawson Meacham took a wrist shot from the blueline that slipped through the arm of T-Birds goalie Joey Roberts for what proved to be the game winning goal for the North Bay Trappers who found a way to get back into their playoff series.

"We needed for some guys to step up and they all did," stated Trappers Head Coach Mike Reise.

"We got a contribution from all 3 lines and you need that in the playoffs. We had to step it up, play more agressive and keep throwing pucks to the net."

The Trappers fell behind 3-2 in the second period only to battle back and edge the Thunderbirds 4-3 at West Ferris arena Saturday afternoon.  The Trappers win puts the series at 2-1 for the T-Birds in the best-of-five Great North Midget League semi-final.

The win comes on the heels of a 8-1 thumping in game 2 in Sault Ste. Marie last Sunday.  The Trappers came home licking their wounds this weekend as Great North Midget League leading scorer Jeff Jordan was out of the lineup for game 3.

Devyn Martel, Eric Allair, Joe Whittet and Jack Drinkwalter provided the rest of the scoring for the Trappers.

Matt McKay, Ryan Mulligan and Brendan Gillis scored for the Thunderbirds.

Trappers goalie Colton Point was solid and kept his team in the game as he faced 41 Thunderbirds shots in the playoff victory for the Erie Otters prospect.

Game 4 of the series takes place Sunday afternoon at 1:50 p.m. at West Ferris arena.

On the other side, the New Liskeard Cubs blanked the Timmins Majors 5-0 on Friday night to sweep their best-of-five semi-final in 3 straight.  The winner of the Soo series will travel to New Liskeard Friday for game 1 of the Great North Midget League final series.
